Commodore Perry Estate transforms a 1928 Italianate mansion and ten manicured acres into an intimate Austin hideaway where Ken Fulk design and private-club energy set the tone.

Commodore Perry Estate sits just north of central Austin on ten landscaped acres, close to the city’s neighborhoods and university while feeling unexpectedly removed from urban life.

The original 1928 Italian Renaissance Revival mansion remains the visual heart of the property. Designer Ken Fulk layers murals, vintage pieces, bold fabrics and preserved architectural details into a glamorous but playful interpretation of the estate’s history.

Accommodation is split between mansion suites and rooms and suites in the newer Inn. Even standard Inn rooms begin around 400 square feet, while the largest mansion suites feel much closer to private apartments.

Lutie’s and the mansion dining spaces give food a central role, and the round estate pool, lawns, fitness center and guest-only social programming reinforce the feeling of being invited into a private club.

Commodore Perry Estate is best for travelers who want Austin without the usual downtown-hotel experience, favoring design, gardens and intimate social spaces over a large conventional resort.
