Giraffe Manor sits in Nairobi’s leafy Langata area on 12 private acres within a 140-acre indigenous forest and giraffe sanctuary, creating a remarkable sense of countryside inside the city.

The original Historic Manor was built in 1932 in the style of a Scottish hunting lodge, while the newer Garden Manor was created from reclaimed period materials to preserve the same 1930s character.

There are only 12 rooms across the two houses, including individually designed doubles and family suites. The intimate scale is essential to keeping the famous giraffe interactions controlled rather than turning them into a crowded attraction.

Resident Nubian giraffes commonly visit in the morning and evening, stretching through windows for treats. Guests also have access to The Retreat nearby, with a 21-metre infinity pool, spa, sauna, gym and restaurant overlooking the sanctuary.

Giraffe Manor is best for travelers who want a genuinely singular wildlife experience rather than conventional urban luxury, and it works especially well as the beginning or end of a larger Kenya safari.
