Hacienda del Sol is a historic 1929 Tucson guest ranch where adobe-style rooms, private patios, three pools and a newly expanded spa sit beneath the Santa Catalina Mountains.
Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort sits in Tucson’s northern foothills, surrounded by Sonoran Desert gardens and broad views toward the Santa Catalina Mountains.
The property dates to 1929 and still feels more like a collection of desert residences than a standardized resort, with historic rooms, newer Sonoran accommodations, suites, casitas and standalone homes spread around the grounds.
Historic Suites measure about 500 square feet and include separate living rooms, decorative fireplaces and private patios. At the top, Casa Alcalde expands to roughly 3,400 square feet with two bedrooms and a full kitchen.
The Spa has six intimate treatment rooms, including a couples suite, plus a scenic hot tub. Spa guests can also use the resort’s three pools, fitness center and hot tubs with mountain views.
Hacienda del Sol is best for travelers who want Tucson history and desert character without giving up full resort facilities, especially couples who value patios, mountain views and a quieter foothills location.
