Josun Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seoul Gangnam

Josun Palace occupies the upper floors of a modern tower on Teheran-ro in Gangnam, close to Seoul’s major business addresses and within easy reach of shopping and cultural sites south of the river. The hotel opened in 2021 but deliberately connects itself to the heritage of the original Chosun Hotel, founded in 1914.

Design studio Humbert & Poyet blended midcentury forms, saturated colors, polished stone and gilded accents with subtle Korean references. The result feels glamorous and contemporary while still acknowledging the hotel group’s long place in Seoul hospitality.

Guest rooms and suites sit high above the city, using large windows and refined materials to turn Gangnam’s dense skyline into a constant backdrop. The heated indoor pool is especially memorable, positioned at altitude with panoramic views that give a simple swim genuine drama.

Five dining and drinking venues range from Korean and Cantonese cooking to lounge and buffet formats. The 1914 Lounge & Bar is an explicit reference to the brand’s history and works well as a bridge between the hotel’s heritage story and its modern setting.

Josun Palace is a strong choice for travelers whose Seoul plans center on Gangnam but who still want a hotel with character. It combines excellent views, bold design and serious facilities with a location particularly convenient for business, COEX and the southern half of the city.
