Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort is reached by a winding coastal road that separates it from the denser resort development around Yalong Bay. Its position on Sunny Bay gives the property a rare sense of seclusion, with the South China Sea visible throughout the grounds.

Jean-Michel Gathy designed the resort to feel like a grand private Chinese residence rather than a conventional tropical hotel. Tall ceilings, deep red accents, courtyards, arched passages and large-scale art create a dramatic sequence of spaces while keeping the sea as the visual focus.

Guest rooms and villas are oversized and oriented toward the water, with stone bathrooms, soaking tubs and broad expanses of glass. The private villas add kitchens, courtyards, pools and butler service for a much more self-contained stay.

Water is central to the resort experience. There are multiple outdoor and indoor pools, including the striking 130-meter Sunny Bay Pool, plus direct beach access and opportunities for boating and diving around nearby Baifu Bay. The spa continues the Chinese courtyard aesthetic in a more private setting.

Park Hyatt Sanya is best for travelers who want a resort that feels architectural and secluded rather than conventionally tropical. Its scale is large, but the spacing of buildings and protected coastal setting preserve a strong sense of privacy.
