Park Hyatt Seoul rises beside COEX in Gangnam, one of the city’s busiest commercial and shopping districts. Arrival is intentionally understated: guests travel upward to the sky lobby, where floor-to-ceiling glass suddenly opens the building to panoramic views.

Japanese design firm Super Potato gave the hotel its distinctive character through natural stone, Myanmar oak, clean lines and carefully concealed technology. The atmosphere is minimalist but warm, with far less visual clutter than many high-rise luxury hotels.

The 185 rooms and suites are notable for their generous dimensions and broad windows. Granite-lined bathrooms with deep tubs and rain showers are almost sculptural, and many room categories frame Gangnam from both the sleeping and bathing areas.

Park Club adds an indoor infinity-style pool, sauna, spa and fitness facilities high above the city. Dining ranges from Italian cooking at Cornerstone to the atmospheric Timber House, which combines Japanese food, cocktails and a vinyl-listening-bar sensibility.

Park Hyatt Seoul suits travelers who appreciate precision, privacy and strong modern design. Its Gangnam location is less convenient for some historic sights north of the river, but it is excellent for COEX, business travel and anyone who wants a quieter interpretation of Seoul luxury.
