Quintessence Hotel

Long Bay, Anguilla AI-2640, Anguilla

Overlooking secluded Long Bay, Quintessence feels more like a collector’s Caribbean mansion than a resort, combining museum-quality Haitian art, intimate suites, a serious wine cellar and lush private gardens.

Quintessence Hotel sits above Long Bay on Anguilla’s quieter western side, surrounded by tropical gardens and only a short walk from pale sand and turquoise water. The property was intentionally conceived as a grand private residence rather than a conventional Caribbean resort.

The accommodations are individually decorated and filled with art, antiques and handcrafted details, giving each room a distinct identity. A later addition called Quinn introduced three smaller suites while maintaining access to the same resort amenities.

Owner Geoffrey Fieger’s collection is central to the experience and includes what the hotel describes as the largest collection of Haitian art outside Haiti. Paintings, sculpture and metalwork appear throughout the mansion and in the dedicated Q Art Gallery.

JULIANS serves Tropical French cuisine, while the hotel’s Tuscan-style cellar and extensive wine collection give food and drink unusual prominence for such a small property. An infinity pool, spa, gym, yoga pavilion, tennis and pickleball fill out the leisure offering.

Quintessence is best for travelers who want privacy and personality rather than a large beachfront scene. The art, wine and residential scale make it feel closer to staying at an eccentric collector’s estate than checking into a standardized island hotel.
