A glamorous reinvention of Doha’s former Ministry of Interior, The Ned Doha combines 1970s architecture, 90 rooms, seven restaurants, live music, contemporary art and a large outdoor pool on the Corniche.
The Ned Doha occupies a former Ministry of Interior building on the Corniche, one of the city’s most recognizable pieces of 1970s modernist architecture. The conversion preserves the building’s strong horizontal lines while introducing the clubby hospitality style associated with The Ned.
The 90 rooms and suites reinterpret mid-century design through warm colors, patterned fabrics and polished wood. Large windows and balconies in selected categories connect the interiors to the Corniche and surrounding city.
Public spaces are organized around social life, with a central performance stage, live music and a substantial contemporary art collection. The 30-meter outdoor pool creates a resort-like focus at the rear of the property despite the highly urban location.
Seven restaurants span Italian, Asian, American and Middle Eastern influences, including Cecconi’s, Kaia, Millie’s and Hadika. Ned’s Club Spa adds treatment rooms, a Moroccan hammam, gym and additional member-oriented spaces.
The Ned Doha is best for travelers who want design, dining and social energy built into the stay. Its adaptive reuse gives it more architectural personality than most modern Doha hotels, while the pool and club facilities add unusual depth.
