The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort occupies its own lush island in Dhaalu Atoll, reached by a roughly 45-minute seaplane transfer from Malé. Jungle, white sand, lagoon and a vibrant house reef create several distinct natural environments within a relatively compact island.

The resort has 33 on-land and 44 overwater villas, and every accommodation includes a private pool. WOW Architects shaped the resort around marine forms, with manta-ray-inspired lagoon villas, a whale-shark-shaped bar and a lobster-inspired spa building.

Iridium Spa extends over the water and forms one of the island’s architectural centerpieces. Diving and watersports are equally important, with more than 40 dive sites around the atoll and reef-restoration work supporting the marine environment.

Seven restaurants and bars range from Mediterranean dining at ALBA and Eastern flavors at Orientale to kaiseki-style T•Pan and sunsets at the Whale Bar. A private yacht, Norma, adds another level of bespoke exploration beyond the island.

The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli is best for travelers who want the Maldives to feel architecturally sophisticated without sacrificing reef access or villa privacy. Its all-private-pool format and sculptural design remain among the most recognizable in the country.
