The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel sits just off Madison Avenue on East 76th Street, placing Central Park, Museum Mile and some of New York’s best luxury shopping within a few blocks. The address feels residential and discreet compared with the larger Midtown luxury hotels farther south.

A complete transformation introduced 70 rooms, 30 suites and 14 private residences, all designed by Martin Brudnizki. Soft blues, terracotta tones, patterned fabrics and curated contemporary art give the rooms the atmosphere of a sophisticated Upper East Side apartment rather than a corporate hotel.

The Surrey Spa is intimate but highly considered, with Sisley Paris treatments, private treatment rooms, steam room, sauna, experience shower, salt tepidarium relaxation room and a 24-hour gym. An outdoor wellness patio adds rare open-air space within the Manhattan footprint.

Casa Tua operates the hotel’s public restaurant and lounge, bringing its established Italian and Mediterranean style from Miami and Aspen to New York. The members’ club component gives the hotel a social dimension that extends beyond overnight guests.

The Surrey is best for travelers who want a newly built luxury experience with an old Upper East Side address. Small scale, Brudnizki interiors and Casa Tua make it feel more like a private neighborhood club than a conventional five-star tower.
