At the end of Loch Torridon in 58 acres of Highland parkland, The Torridon pairs just 18 individually designed hotel rooms with serious outdoor adventure, a kitchen garden, Highland cattle and deeply Scottish dining.

The Torridon sits at the end of a magnificent sea loch in Wester Ross, surrounded by some of the Scottish Highlands’ most dramatic mountains. Its 58-acre estate feels genuinely remote, with Inverness roughly 90 minutes away by car and the North Coast 500 passing through the wider region.

The main hotel contains only 18 individually designed rooms and suites, while The Stables and a secluded two-bedroom Boathouse provide less formal alternatives elsewhere on the estate. Historic architecture, rich fabrics and changing mountain and loch views give the property a deeply traditional Highland sense of place.

Wellness is intentionally tied to the landscape rather than to a conventional spa. Private yoga and breathwork, sound baths, rewilding walks and nearby wood-fired coastal sauna sessions complement kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, gorge scrambling, archery, falconry, fly fishing and stargazing.

The estate raises Highland cattle, Tamworth pigs and chickens and maintains its own kitchen garden, feeding directly into the restaurants. 1887 offers the more refined tasting-menu experience, while Bo & Muc is relaxed and seasonal; the Whisky Bar holds an extraordinary collection of single malts.

The Torridon is best for travelers who want Scotland to feel wild, active and gastronomically serious at the same time. The combination of 18-room intimacy and an enormous outdoor program makes it much more than a scenic country-house hotel.
