The Vineyard in Stockcross has long been defined by its unusually serious relationship with wine, but the hotel is presently in the middle of a substantial transformation. Rather than describing the former product as current, travelers should note that the first phase of the reimagined property is scheduled to open on February 1, 2027.

That first chapter is planned to introduce redesigned bedrooms alongside two new restaurants, a bar, wine shop, chocolate kitchen and refreshed event spaces. The intent is to preserve the property’s hospitality identity while rebuilding the experience around food, wine and contemporary country-house design.

Wine will remain central. Sommelier-led tastings and a dedicated wine shop are being positioned as signature experiences, continuing the reputation that made The Vineyard distinctive among luxury hotels in the English countryside.

A second phase later in 2027 is expected to add the new spa and further bedrooms. Until those spaces open, the final shape of the complete post-renovation resort experience will continue to evolve.

The Vineyard is therefore best viewed as a hotel to watch rather than a finished recommendation for immediate travel in late 2026. For guests planning 2027 trips, the combination of Berkshire countryside, serious wine programming and a full physical refresh could make the reopening especially compelling.
